  Congratulations are in order for the RBA Web Team, named The Arzies, consisting of Rick Grenda, high school junior, and Zheming Gu, senior.
The Arzies have received the second place award in the Joliet Junior College's Department of Computer Information & Office Systems (CIOS) 11th Annual Web Design Contest. The Web Design Competition is an opportunity for students of Community College District 525 to compete in the design and creation of an Internet Web site and is open to all high schoolers and college students in the college district.
Rick and Zheming worked together as a team entering the Group Division of the competition, creating animated graphic interactions and style effects that stood out as fine "coding" skills. Students have learned the basics of creating the code that makes Web pages work. Called XHTML (stands for eXtensible Hypertext Markup Language), this code can be written using the most basic text editor on any computer.
Students have learned to use Windows Notepad and a Web browser to create many Web pages. We've learned that although many codes can also add formatting to Web pages, it's better to use Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) to format Web pages. |

Second quarter ends at Ridgewood December 18. Junior high and high school students will have half days December 16-18 for 1st semester exams.
All students will have a half day Friday, December 18. School is out at 11:45 a.m. |
